      <image:title>About - About me</image:title>
<image:caption>My name is Gabrielle Mannino. I’m currently working on The Hill as Deputy Press Secretary for Congresswoman Chellie Pingree of Maine. Before entering the world of politics and communications, I was a journalist and photojournalist. My first job after graduating from The Pennsylvania State University was on Martha’s Vineyard, where I was the photo editor and sole photojournalist for a weekly newspaper, Martha's Vineyard Times (MV Times), on the Island. I chose to leave the MV Times and move to Portland to branch out and challenge myself in a new environment, where I got a job as a digital news producer at the NBC affiliate based in Portland, NEWS CENTER Maine. and freelance photojournalist. Photography has always been my passion, but my bachelor's degree in Photojournalism with a minor in English from Penn State gave me the outlet to grow, and helped frame my view of the world of journalism. Whether it be writing, photography, newspaper design, communications, or ethics, I have a full grasp of my chosen field. While at Penn State, I was awarded the unique opportunity to cover both the Democratic and Republican National Conventions during the 2016 presidential election with a select group of students and covered the conventions in depth for various McClatchy newspapers. My work was featured in outlets nationally covering two of the highest scale events in U.S. politics. That experience has anchored my approach to local news coverage whether it be weather, community, or breaking news related. It is my calling to continue that experience, and tell the stories of our time.</image:caption>
